Coaching School 
We offer specialist coaching for adults and children of all ages and abilities who want to learn to be proficient recreational ice and inline skaters, as well as ice and inline hockey players. This specialist coaching is delivered through a structured coaching programme run in association with North Somerset Council.

Our beginners group, after successfully completing their Inline Hockey Grade1 Award at Churchill Sports Centre on 02/12/07.

Inline Hockey - Beginners (7+)
Detail:

When: Every Saturday 11am - 12noon
Cost: £3.50 per player
Requirements:
Players need to have their own skates to attend this session, we will provide the rest.
Session content and information :
Players attending this session don’t need any previous hockey experience or knowledge of the game. This will be provided through group discussion, structured drills and match situations. During these sessions the Get-inline coaches will teach the basics of skating, passing, shooting, puck handling, game situation and fitness, in a fun and friendly environment.

Once players have achieved the basics they have the option to take part in our enjoyable and rewarding hockey ‘Grades’ (1, 2 and 3). Players taking this route can be coached to club level and become involved playing competitively.
Inline Hockey Grades 1, 2 and 3
Three progressive grading assessments (beginner to advanced) have been designed to evaluate and recognise player’s abilities. Certificates and medals are awarded on successful completion of each level. These comprehensive courses also promote fitness, social skills and the importance of teamwork.
Grade 1 (beginner)
This course is designed to get the complete beginner started in the skater hockey game. We encourage everybody with an interest to give this a go, as its extremely enjoyable and rewarding.

Grade 2 (intermediate)
Grade 2 looks at the basics of the game .The main emphasis in this grade is learning about the importance of timing and awareness. An extensive range of techniques in skating, passing, shooting, checking and puck handling are also taught. We also help players improve on the core skills learnt in Grade 1. More realistic match situations are created and players experience the game at a much higher tempo.

Grade 3 (advanced)
Grade 3 takes a much more detailed look at the game. Players are coached in power play, short handed and penalty kill tactics at competitive standards that replicates league level hockey. Tactical scenarios are taught along with more complex drills than in Grade 2. A further emphasis is placed on dynamic skating and puck handling skills, with much higher standards expected in order to pass.

Sk8 fit (Group bookings for 8 adult skaters or more)
Sk8 fit is an aerobic style workout on inline skates. It incorporates circuit training and endurance drills whilst teaching a range of skating techniques. It’s designed for beginners and recreational skaters alike- so if you are keen to improve you’re skating and fitness, in a relaxed, friendly environment this may well be the course for you!
The programme will not disappoint the experienced skater either, as we will endeavour to refine your skills further and push you just that little bit harder if you so wish! This programme is particularly suitable if you are learning to ski or a training cyclist, as inline skating is the perfect sport for improving balance, agility and stamina.

Requirements:
- You will need to provide your own inline skates.
- All skaters need to be a minimum of 16 years old.
- All skaters need to bring a drink to every session-ideally water.

Inline Skating tutition (individual and group)

Costs:
- Individual lessons are £25 per half hour lesson (using whole sports hall)
- £50 per hour (using whole sports hall).
- Group lessons of 2-5 skaters £75 per hour (whole hall)
During the session we will work on developing all aspects of the skating stride technique helping to improve skaters of any age and ability.

Ice Skating tutition (Individual and group)

Costs:
Individual lessons lasting 30 minutes on 1/3 of the ice are £25.00 (£4.85 of this cost must be paid at the rink reception)
Group lessons of 2-5 skaters lasting 30 minutes on 1/3 of the ice, £POA
Group lessons of 2 -15 skaters/ hockey players on the whole ice £200 (per hour)

Ice Hockey ( Under 16s)

When: Every Tuesday 8.15pm - 9.15pm
Cost: £4.00 per session plus membership fee
Requirements:
Full skater hockey kit is required to attend this session. Some knowledge of the game is also necessary. Ideally players wanting to join will have been involved with our development programme or have already played at club level.
Session content and information :
These sessions are run for Bristol ice hockey club. This team is currently playing in the Junior ice 'B' league.
Players taking part will learn about positional skills, team building, game tactics, dynamic skating, checking, team strategies, puck handling, shooting techniques and match situations. Although the game is being played for fun and in a friendly environment, players are expected to put the mental and physical effort in to achieve the standard needed to compete at league level.
The next step............
Once players have a good understanding of the skills mentioned above they may wish to start playing for the under 18s team.
Ice Hockey (Under 18s)

Cost: £4.00 per session plus membership fee
Requirements:
Full skater hockey kit is required to attend this session.
Session content and information :
These sessions are run for Bristol ice hockey club. This team is currently playing in the Junior ice 'B' league.
Players attending this session do need previous hockey experience and knowledge of the game and have ideally been involved with our under 16s team or playerd ice hockey for another club.
The next step.........
Players can progress to the senior recreational/ professional leagues or train to be coaches and officials .
